FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where did the idea for the CEB originate?
When Bank of America approached the Longwood Foundation to discuss the possible donation of one of its Bracebridge complex buildings in Wilmington, the Foundation saw an opportunity to creatively address a critical need all charter schools face - access to quality, affordable space for their schools. This would be accomplished by duplicating The Community Services Building concept, where non-profits have access to quality facilities at lower than market lease rates, in support of charter schools.

Where is the building located?
The CEB building is located at 1200 N. French Street, at the corner with 12th Street, in downtown Wilmington, Delaware.

What is the size of the building?
The building has some 281,000 square feet of leasable space on nine floors. This space is dedicated to classrooms, shared facilities such as a cafeteria, a library, music and dance rooms, an indoor play area, and a health/wellness center.

Is parking available?
The building has approximately 290 parking spaces on four levels, and will offer free parking to its tenants.

How many schools will be located there?
We anticipate having 3 - 4 school tenants.

How many students are expected?
We anticipate serving 1,800 - 2,000 students.

What are the grade levels?
The grade levels will be determined by the schools approved for occupancy; however, the ultimate goal is to cover grades K-12.

What is your vision for the campus?
The CEB has been established to help all students attending its tenant schools to be fully prepared for educational advancement or careers, and to become lifelong learners. the CEB Management will work with school leadership to leverage their unique qualities and create a holistic building (village) culture. This culture will also be enhanced by the contributions of the support organizations occupying space in the building.

How do schools apply for occupancy?
Charter schools are required to apply for occupancy. An independent selection and performance review committee will review school applications and recommend schools to the CEB Board and CEB Management Team. Please contact Linda Jennings, CEO, if you are interested in becoming a part of this exciting collaborative.
